Physical Therapy doctoral students keep things moving

The DPT students took full advantage of the summer sunshine with activities that got them both acquainted and moving out on the academic quad.

Though Commencement ceremonies bring the Spring semester to a close in May, the Utica University campus doesn’t stay quiet for long as the calendar pages turn and the rising temperatures give way to the summer season.
Among the hustle and bustle on campus during the summer weeks are Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, beginning their six-week intensive Gross Anatomy course. The new cohort kicks things off a day before classes begin with an informational orientation and various activities that foster communication and the opportunity to get to know each other.
“This is something we do annually to welcome the new DPT cohort,” says Dr. Shelly Nunno Evans, Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Physical Therapy. “The Utica DPT program and profession as a whole has extremely high standards and we attempt to provide each cohort with a clear understanding of what will be expected of them academically as well as professionally.”
The DPT students took full advantage of the summer sunshine with activities that got them both acquainted and moving out on the academic quad, cementing the teamwork mindset that will help them excel together throughout the DPT program.
